Maximize utilization of date palm residues to produce environmentally friendly fuel briquettes

This study aimed to maximize the utilization of date palm residues and convert them into an environmentally friendly form fuel. The variety Khalas (leaf fronds whole fronds) were used produce fuel briquettes at three moisture contents (8, 10, 12%) four storage times (0, 15, 30, 45 days). mechanical, fuel, quality properties these investigated. results showed that leaf had best in terms mechanical briquettes. for compressive stresses 24.98 MPa 10% content 4.27 12%. second period gave all different contents. significant effects on properties. hydrolysis time durability increased with increasing content. calorific value ranged between (17.78 18.12 MJ/kg) (16.54 17.78 MJ/kg), respectively. These good can be handled used, especially rural areas where other energy sources are not available. Keywords: Calorific value; Date residues; Durability; Fuel index; Modulus elasticity
